The Wildlife Institute of India-JRF





The Wildlife Institute of India (WII) is a premier national autonomous Institute of the Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoE&F), Government of India in the field of teaching, training and research. The WII wishes to engage 02 Junior Research Fellows (Indian nationals only) through awalk-in-interview on Monday, 5th December 2011. Project Title, details of position and duration


Identification and prioritization of research gaps in coastal and marine conservation in the East Godavari River Estuarine Ecosystem (EGREE).


(01– JRF)


Duration: Ten months.


Essential Qualification


Masters degree in Marine Biology/ Marine Science/ Marine Fisheries/ Environmental Science/ Ecology/ Forestry/Zoology/Botany with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks from a recognized University.


Desirable Qualification


Research experiences in coastal and marine biodiversity. Experience in compilation, analysis and synthesis of research materials.


Description of Work



  1. The study aims to Identify and prioritize of research gaps in coastal and marine conservation in the East Godavari River Estuarine Ecosystem.



  2. The JRF will compile all published and unpublished research information about coastal and marine conservation in the East Godavari River Estuarine Ecosystem and than synthesise the same to identify the research gaps in consultations with various stakeholders.

Impact of global change on species composition in Western Himalayas: Himachal Pradesh.


(01 – JRF)


Duration: Till January 2014.


Essential Qualification


Masters degree in Botany/Forestry/Wildlife Science/Environmental Science with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks from a recognized University.


Desirable Qualification


Work experience in the Himalaya region with use of GIS and Remote Sensing.


Description of Work


Study the vegetation structure and composition, impact o global change, land use and impact of invasive species of floristic diversity with emphasis on changes in species composition, species transition and species loss.
